Valour

Valour: Granted by Azrael, Aten, The Crofter, Mallan, and Balance

These miracles allow the priest that wields them to turn a bunch of half-trained yokels into a crack fighting force with a few words and a little power. They may seem less powerful than those that smite foes directly, but it is unwise to underestimate the effect of enhanced equipment upon a battle.

Level 1: Mighty Blow

Range: Touch
Duration: Until discharged
Effect: The priest instructs a minor spirit to help the recipient of this spell give their next target a really good whack. They may call STRIKEDOWN instead of their next weapon damage call.

Level 2: Hauberk of Faith

Range: Touch
Duration: Inflict/Until discharged
Effect: The priest binds a minor spirit to protect the target from harm. They gain three points of global armour. This may be used to repair damage to a higher-level armour granting miracle (but not a spell).

Level 3: Bless Weapon

Range: Touch
Duration: Scene-Length or 5 minutes
Effect: The priest temporarily binds a minor spirit into the touched weapon. Until the duration is up, the weapon will do Spirit damage, and if the wielder (designated at the time of casting, and must also be touching the weapon at the time of casting) normally does Half or Nothing with this weapon then they will gain +1 degree of damage (except if Non-Combatant or Frail). The weapon will do a Spirit Single Through per ten seconds or so to anyone touching it without the wielder or the priest's permission, and is immune to DISARM calls. This miracle may only be successfully cast upon a LARP-safe weapon; casting it upon another inanimate object or upon a living being will cause it to fail. The damage call granted by this miracle is unnatural; that is, this miracle does not stack with any other weapon-enhancing spell or miracle unless explicitly stated in the description of the other effect.

Level 4: Cuirass of Faith

Range: Touch
Duration: Inflict/Until discharged
Effect: The priest binds a mid-ranking spirit to protect the target from harm. They gain six points of global armour. This may be used to repair damage to a higher-level armour granting miracle (but not a spell).

Level 5: Spirit Weapon

Range: Touch
Duration: Scene-Length or 5 minutes
Effect: The priest temporarily binds a mid-ranking spirit into the touched weapon. Until the duration is up, the weapon will do +1 degree of Spirit damage. The weapon will do a Spirit Single per ten seconds or so to anyone touching it without the permission of the wielder (designated at the time of casting, and who must also be touching the weapon at the time of casting) or the priest, and is immune to DISARM calls.

Level 6: Armour of Faith

Range: Touch
Duration: Inflict/Until discharged
Effect: The priest binds a powerful spirit to the defence of the target. They gain 12 points of global armour. If there exists a more powerful armour-granting miracle through the grace of any deity, this miracle could be used to repair it.

Level 7: Spirit Armoury

Range: Touch (thrice)
Duration: Scene-Length or 5 minutes
Effect: The priest binds a powerful spirit to assist the bearers of three touched weapons in battle. Each weapon touched after casting this miracle (up to three) is under the effect of the Spirit Weapon miracle, above.
